Villa del Palmar Cancun has introduced its Perfect Plate program to raise the standards even higher within its onsite gourmet restaurants. The Perfect Plate program comes as part of the resort’s commitment to perfection and those wow experiences, and joins other programs such as the Perfect Room and Perfect Restaurant programs already in place to ensure the very highest quality experiences.
The Perfect Plate program focuses directly on the quality of the dishes served in our restaurants. For example, the Perfect Plate focuses on ensuring the excellent quality of the ingredients, presentation and preparation methods, aiming for the highest standards possible, which involves two phases. The first is to check the quality of the products being used in our recipes, finding the best suppliers that consistently meet the standards that we expect for freshness, cleanliness and taste. Secondly, we have clear procedures about how the dishes are cooked and prepared, including their presentation, with checklists on each workstation. Also, each day the chef will prepare a dish and present it to all the staff as a reminder of how the dish should look and taste, adding a brief explanation of the dish to both the cooks and the waiters.
Flavor, art, design, aromas and a lot of passion
The process involved in how a dish becomes part of our menus is also an important part of the Perfect Plate initiative, with a whole series of tests that start with the selection of the ingredients that will be used. We choose only those ingredients that meet the highest standards and as many products as possible that can be found locally. The chef will then start to design and experiment with dishes before presenting them to the certification committee, which is composed of chefs from the other restaurants at the resort, members of the management team and the hotel’s owner and his family.
Each dish will pass through a certification process which evaluates taste, temperature, presentation, quality and the general experience of the dish. Only those dishes that pass this certification process will be considered for inclusion on the menu. Last but not least, our guests also have a hand in perfecting each and every plate, being invited to leave a review of their dining experience on the restaurant iPad after each meal. That way, your suggestions or comments about the dish will go directly to the chef. There you can let the chef know if you think the dish was too hot, too cold, too salty, too spicy and so on, contributing to the perfection of our dishes.
