Don’t Forget your Toothbrush! Vacation Must Haves!

Table of Contents

Vacations might be the best time of the year, but very often traveling to and from these hard earned getaways can be the most stressful days of the summer. So, whether you’re a super organized jetsetter, a fly-by-night vacationer, or an almost-but-not-quite packer we have a list of things to remember that will take some of the stress out of your travels. These are the key things to have in your carry-on luggage so that you’ll always have the basics, even if you lose your case!

Hygienic high-flying

It can be a real life saver to keep a clean pair of underwear and socks in your carry-on, as well as a clean shirt, and even though liquids are restricted you can still stay clean and fresh if the worst happens and you misplace your case (or even if you just want to freshen up on a stopover). Bring some stick deodorant and wet-wipes (non-fragranced, ladies!) as well as your toothbrush and a travel size tube of toothpaste to stay fresh on the go.

Reading Materials

If you read quickly we’d recommend you pack a tablet or e-reader so that you can have a big selection of things to browse depending upon your mood. Something interesting to read can take the stress out of waiting for connections and long-haul flights. Plus, you’ll want something to flick through on the beach!

Camera

Nothing keeps you connected to your vacations after you come home quite like photographs, so remember your camera!

Chargers for Electronics

Don’t forget the chargers for your electronics; nothing can cause a meltdown quite like forgetting your phone or laptop charger so double check that you have them before you leave! They can be quite hard to find on the go.

Medication

If you’re on prescription medication be sure to bring enough to tide you over for the whole vacation, and keep them in a safe place! Finding specific medications abroad can be a real nightmare. Even if you don’t need prescription drugs be sure to bring some basic over the counter painkillers, diarrhoea medication, and allergy pills.

Cash and Cards

Cash is always good to have when traveling as you can never be sure of finding an ATM upon arrival, but we’d recommend that you bring credit cards so that you’re not carrying large amounts of cash at any one time. Just be sure to let your bank know that you’ll be using them abroad so that they don’t freeze your account (a great security measure, but inconvenient when it’s you using the card).

If you have all this in your carry-on luggage, even that worst of vacation nightmares, the loss of your case, won’t ruin your getaway! Happy vacationing!
