Future guests will be excited to hear about one of our latest additions: Proximity Keys, which allow guests to open the door to their suite with their smartphone, are part of a new ecological program (#BeCool) aimed at making attainable changes that will benefit the environment.
No contact proximity key at Villa del Palmar Cancun
While enabling guests to open the door to their suite at Villa del Palmar Cancun with their smartphones is both fun and convenient, the true reason behind incorporating this exciting new technology within the resort is the drive we feel to do our part to help the environment through our “Be Cool” program. Villa del Palmar Cancun guests are invited to use an app which can be downloaded to your smartphone that will allow you to open your room without traditional resort keys in an effort to be more environmentally friendly.
How it works
An electronic keycode will be generated specifically for your room upon check-in.
You will receive an email containing the details about your reservation plus the links to download the APP, which will vary based on which operating system your smartphone uses.
You can download the APP from the App Store on iOS or Google Play, which is compatible with smartphones including iPhone 4 or later and Android 4.3 or later.
Upon completion of the APP being downloaded, open the APP to register by using the same email address you used when you checked in.
You will be able to view the details of your reservation in addition to a message indicating when your room will be ready. If your room happens to not be quite ready, the APP will let you know as soon as it is.
Once your room is ready, a green wifi symbol and your room number will appear on the newly downloaded electronic key on your smartphone, advising you that the door to your unit can now be opened.
In order for the APP to work, it is essential that the Bluetooth function on your device is activated. If yours happens to be turned off, you will receive a message prompting you to turn it back on.
