Top Tip for Your Wedding Day

Table of Contents

The average bride-to-be will have at least a short vision of what her wedding will be like: what the guests will think, what the food will be, and, of course, how good she will look. As a result of this many brides will decide to get fit, and maybe lose weight. Even the thinnest may choose to go on a cleanse for the big day!

This is understandable, but nutrition is, as always, key to keeping our bodies fit, healthy and running at optimal levels. No-one is in the least surprised when brides say they are going to diet for their big day, but it’s so important that it is done right. It is essential that brides-to-be fuel themselves with high nutrient alternatives to the fatty or sugary foods they wish to avoid rather than cutting down or avoiding eating. This is especially the case on the day of the wedding when a good, steady supply of energy will be needed to get through the long, exciting day. Hunger, fatigue, and stress can lead to fainting spells which is the last thing anyone wants!

Staying Healthy & Strong for your Wedding

Staying Healthy & Strong for your Wedding

It is almost entirely the case that brides never get a chance to eat during their own wedding receptions because they are so busy running up and down greeting and thanking everyone between all the “little jobs” like cutting the wedding cake and throwing the bridal bouquet etc. This alone should show that eating a good breakfast and/or lunch (depending upon when the actual wedding ceremony is) is utterly important. A bride-to-be should have a good breakfast filled with complex carbs and protein as well as healthy fats to keep her satisfied. Why not try mashed avocado with bacon on wholemeal toast?

If there is the chance prior to your wedding, then a light lunch is also a good idea, or at least some healthy snacks. Avocado, nuts, protein bars, whole-grain crackers, or even veggies and hummus are all good starts. Incidentally this will also help brides to withstand the bottles of bubbly that the wedding reception will no doubt bring their way.

 Hydration during your wedding

Another way for the bride to take good care of herself on her wedding day, and indeed on the run up to it, is to ensure that hydration is high on the list of priorities. Some people may tell brides, and this can worry them, that drinking too much will make them appear bloated but this is actually not the case. Keeping hydrated lets your body drop water weight, and will also help to flush out toxins and stay balanced. This means a slimmer waist, clearer skin, and better moods! Drinking enough water is particularly important for beach weddings.

These are just two great tips for staying healthy on the run up to your wedding and on the day itself. Got your own tips? Please add a comment.
