Wellness is a buzzword that we hear a lot these days. It simply means the state of being in good health. The current pandemic situation is a persistent reminder of how vital it is to keep fit and eat right in order to have a strong immune system. Before we kick off October Wellness 2020 at Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa, we will run a couple of activities to coincide with World Wellness Weekend (WWW).
This year, WWW will take place on the third weekend of September. The goal of this weekend is to inspire individuals towards healthier lifestyles. WWW partners with 60 different organizations including: International Spa Association, Spa and Wellness International Council, Wellness Tourism Association, Global Wellness Institute and many more. On September 19th and 20th 2020 groups, associations, venues, and fitness clubs are encouraged to offer free and fun wellness activities. These dates were chosen to happen just before the September Equinox, when the length of day & night is almost equal. The significance of this is used as a symbol for Work/Life harmony.
Last year, more than 2,356 venues participated in 98 countries. In 2020, the number of venues taking part in WWW will more than double to 5,000 and 120 different countries will participate across 6 continents.
Villa del Palmar Cancun has joined this initiative and movement for health and wellness. Come to celebrate with us, and the whole world, with a spectacular weekend where we offer the following free activities:
September 19: Vinyasa Yoga at the Villa del Palmar Cancun dock at 9:00 am with Lina Muñoz.
September 20: Mayan Purification Ritual on the beach at 4:00 pm with the Village Spa team.

At Villa del Palmar Cancun, World Wellness Weekend is a lead-in to our annual October Wellness Month. This is the second year that Giselle Sedinger, our talented Spa Manager at the Village Spa, designed the program for the October Wellness event. The program will be a little bit different than last year, but the aim is the same, to boost wellness and promote healthy lifestyle changes.
Bonnie Ringer will be joining us again for the 6th time with her yoga and SUP yoga classes. We will also have several new guest instructors joining us for the first time.

- Bonnie Ringer – Yoga Instructor
Bonnie is an experienced Yoga and Healing Arts Therapy Practitioner and Meditation Instructor. She opened her own yoga studio in New York, Bonnie’s Yoga Shala, and she runs different workshops around globe.

- Alejandra Betancourt – Pole Dance Coach
Alejandra is a professional pole dance coach specializing in acrobatic dances with rotating pole and floor dancing. Her aim for this workshop is to coach real women to explore performance, bring out their sensual side and increase self-confidence.

- Omar Balan – Health & Wellness Specialist
Omar is a specialist in the health and wellness industry. His talent and passion for the industry has led him to create sensory, mindfulness and meditation programs that awaken the senses.

- Lina Muñoz – Yoga & Meditation Instructor
Lina is a regular yoga instructor at Villa del Palmar Cancun and she teaches Pilates, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha Yoga. She is also a meditation instructor and a holistic therapist with 13 years of experience.

- Giselle Sedinger – Spa Manager
Giselle manages the Village Spa and this year we are honored to have her participation as a dance instructor. She is passionate about dance, which she learned from a young age, and she will teach Hawaiian and Tahitian dances.

- Rafael Vegas (El Russo) – Fitness Instructor
Rafael specializes in Zumba Fitness and is also a TOP trainer at Wellness Training & Fitness Cancun. Rafael will give our program a shot of energy with his Zumba class!

- Maria Clemencia Alzate Guarnizo – High-performance Sports Expert
Maria has focused on rehabilitation and physical strength training, which has led her to delve into the high-performance sports field such as BMX, triathlon, mountain biking, hiking, and CrossFit training.
