The Grilling Bastards at Villa del Palmar Cancun

The Grilling Bastards will be presenting a special grill course for meat lovers at Villa del Palmar Cancun on January 29 and 30. Their courses are designed for those who want to learn grilling techniques and learn how to boost the flavor in meat. Don’t miss your chance to meet the Grilling Bastards and create tasty recipes all while enjoying good company and a dose of humor.

Cancun Half Marathon

Get ready to run in Cancun! This event will be held on March 8, 2020, in commemoration of International Women’s Day, departing from the Malecón Tajamar corridor, about 10 minutes from Villa del Palmar Cancún. 

Athletes can start registering to participate in the 5 km, 10 km and 20 km in different categories. If you are up for participating, you can register on the official website!

Spring Equinox in Chichen Itza

To enjoy Spring Break in Cancun, a visit to Chichen Itza during the Spring Equinox is a natural event you cannot miss on March 20, 2020.

Chichen Itza is a magical place full of energy, which is why the Mayan culture built amazing temples and an observatory. Book a tour to Chichen Itza in advance and do not forget to wear white clothing to receive all the energy of Spring, observe as the Mayan god Kukulkan “the feathered serpent” goes down through the El Castillo temple.

Ekali: Electro & Bass Concert

If you love electronic and bass music, Ekali will be hitting Cancun’s Hotel Zone music scene on March 31st, 2020. This concert is part of their new “Away from the World Tour”. During the show, Ekali will be performing part of their greatest hits, including “Hard to Say Goodbye” and “Back to You”.

The concert’s venue is yet to be confirmed.

Cancun’s Triathlon

Whether you are a sporty traveler or just a fan of sports, Cancun’s Triathlon “Challenge Cancun” will be an event that thousands of people will enjoy on April 26, 2020. During this sporting event in Cancun, over 600 triathletes will be competing to represent their countries on the upcoming “Mundial Challenge 2021” in Slovakia.

This competition will be held in Cancun’s Hotel Zone and the awards ceremony will be presented at Las Palapas Park in Downtown Cancun, a great place to mingle with local people and try regional snacks.

Alejandro Fernández – Pop and Ranchero Music Concert

Alejandro Fernández is an iconic artist of Mexican pop music, and in 2020 he will start his new “Hecho en México Tour” (Made in Mexico Tour). During his tour, Alejandro will be performing his greatest hits, as well as his new album “Caballero”, returning to his “ranchero” roots.

This tour includes many Mexican cities and on May 8, 2020, he will be performing in the city of Mérida, Yucatán and on May 9 he will be presenting his show with over 20 music performers, including Mariachi, in Cancun at the Beto Avila Baseball Stadium.

Mau & Ricky – Pop Music Concert

Get to dance to the rhythm of Latin Pop, performed by these two Venezuelan brothers, on May 21st, 2020 at Cancun’s Plaza de Toros (Bullring). Mau & Ricky are two brothers that were nominated in 2018 at the Grammy Awards for Best Artist and Song of the Year.

October Wellness 2020 at Villa del Palmar Cancun

Every year, Villa del Palmar Cancún runs a great wellness program during the month of October. Known as the October Wellness Program, our resort invites a number of inspiring wellness experts, yoga teachers, fitness coaches and lifestyle bloggers to take our guests on a wellness journey and help them stay physically fit even while enjoying their vacation. Guests can participate in different activities offered daily including yoga, water sports, meditation and a variety of fun sessions to boost energy.

The Mexican Day of the Dead

During two days, November 1st and 2nd, some establishments honor the Day of the Dead with beautiful décor and special dishes. In Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula, you will delight in traditional “Pib”, a tamale stuffed with chicken and pork which is enjoyed with hot cocoa and delicious “Pan de Muerto” (Dead Bread), a sweet bread. Both dishes are only prepared during these days.

Local families, restaurants and shopping centers also build indoor altars with photos of their loved ones, with their favorite meals and drinks. This tribute is dedicated to “welcome their holy dead”, who are visiting them to enjoy this time of the year on earth with their families, as they feast on the food, drink tequila and smoke the cigars left on their altars.

 ARENA Festival – Playa del Carmen

This circuit music festival will take over Playa del Carmen with iconic artists of the gay scene, with a magnificent line up, including Isaac Escalante, Erick Ibiza and Las Bibas from Vizcaya, among others.

This fantastic music festival in the Riviera Maya will last 5 days, starting from January 29 to February 3rd, 2020.

Carnival of Cozumel

Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the Carnival of Cozumel 2020, a Mardi Gras parade with 140 years of history, preserving the traditions and culture of the Yucatan Peninsula. 

This impressive parade in Cozumel will be run from February 19 to February 26, 2020, downtown along Cozumel’s coast with the coronation of the Queen and the Ugly King. In between, some artists such as Chayanne, Reik and Manuel Turizo will be performing some of their greatest hits.

Riviera Maya Jazz Festival

The Riviera Maya Jazz Festival is a great way to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holidays. This international music festival takes place in Mamita’s Beach Club in Playa del Carmen.

The upcoming 2020 Edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival will gather icons of Jazz music that will perform their greatest hits. An amazing outdoor experience with only the best of Jazz and the Caribbean breeze awaits!
