A Day in Playa del Carmen

A Day in Playa del Carmen

While vacationing at Villa del Palmar Cancun it is well worth planning a trip to Playa del Carmen, and it is so easy to do. It is only about an hour from Villa del Palmar Cancun by car. Playa del Carmen is smaller than Cancun but has a more bohemian vibe with lots of bars and boutiques as well as some beautiful beaches. It is also where you take the ferry if you wish to visit the island of Cozumel.

A full or half day trip to Playa del Carmen is totally doable and pretty stress free, even if you plan to do it yourself by bus, taxi or hiring a car. Alternatively, tours are available for those who just want to sit back and be chauffeured from door to door.  Arriving to Playa del Carmen in the early morning is recommended for a great day trip or you could arrive in the afternoon if you are planning to dine and hit the bars.

Some of the pastimes you can enjoy in Playa del Carmen include swimming with dolphins, shopping, lounging at the beach, watersports and fishing tours; as the sun goes down at night you will find great restaurants and exciting nightlife. Guests wishing to stay until late can easily take a taxi home when the clubs close in the early hours.
